PHOENIX, Ariz. – Washington kicked off competition today at the PING ASU Invitational, closing out the opening round in eighth place among 16 teams with a score of 293.
Carmen Lim and Amber Li set the pace for the Huskies, each turning in even-par rounds after landing two birdies each on the front nine to tie for 24th.
Wendy Tang checked in at two-over-par to hold 38th place, while Mads Smith posted a three-over to sit 49th. Athena Ni tallied a six-over round, placing 73rd to round out the group's scoring effort.
Competing individually, Claudia Alnajim finished the day at five-over, sitting 65th overall.
Washington resumes action tomorrow at Papago Golf Club for the second round of the PING ASU Invitational.
