Softball Sweeps Northwestern In First B1G Series
March 08, 2026 | Softball
The Dawgs finished the week 4-0 at home and are on a nine-game winning streak, improving to 19-6 on the season.
Northwestern struck first on Sunday, with a Wildcat registering a two-RBI home run to put NU up 2-0 early.
Jadyn Glab scored the first run for the Huskies in the bottom of the first, then Washington exploded in the subsequent two innings.
Up 2-1 in the top of the second, Northwestern added two more due to a Husky miscue to take a 4-1 lead.
With the bases loaded in the bottom of the second, Giselle Alvarez smashed a grand slam, the first of the season for the Huskies, to deep center field to put Washington up 5-4 and score Sophi Mazzola, Kaycie Burdick and Glab.
