
Huskies Set for Final Homestand Against West Coast Rivals USC and UCLA

SEATTLE - The University of Washington Men's Tennis Team (8-15) is back at home for the final time this season with action against No. 20 USC (16-6) and against No. 21 UCLA (14-6). The matchup against the USC Trojans is set to take place Friday, April 17th, at 4 pm, while the match against the UCLA Bruins is scheduled for Sunday, April 19th, at 12 pm. All matches will be played at the outdoor Quillian Tennis Stadium.

Husky History against the Trojans
This will be the thirtieth meeting in series history between the Huskies and Trojans, with the series favoring USC 22-7. In last seasons's matchup, the Huskies upset USC on the road 4-2, with Soham Purohit from singles; while Rohan Belday and Brett Pearson from doubles contributed points in the win. Last years victory was the second in a row for Washington, with the first win in 2023-24 snapping a eight match streak against the Trojans dating back to the 2016-17 -season.
Husky History against the Bruins
In the second match of the weekend, the Huskies host UCLA on Senior Night for the thirty-third matchup in school history. The Bruins currently hold a 29-3 lead in a series they have won three in a row dating back to the 2022-23 season. The last win against the Bruins came with another set of back-to-back victories for the Huskies as they won in 2021-22 twice, with once in the regular season and th either in the Pac-12 tournament. The second win would send the Huskies to their last Pac-12 Final.
Husky Stats of Note
Soham Purohit and Brett Pearson are back in the rankings at 46th in doubles after a weekend that saw them increase their win streak to five matches before snapping the streak at Ohio State. From doubles, Rohan Belday and Stephane Kamendje are also riding their own hot streak, with a two match winning streak stacked with a three match unbeaten run in this final gauntlet of matches.
USC Scouting Report
Southern California enters the Friday matchup ranked 20th with a 16-6 record, with a trio of players ranked in singles, No. 67, 74, and 107 and in doubles competition the No. 86 duo. The Trojans are coming off a homestand weekend in with they went 2-0 against Northwestern and No. 17 Illinois, winning both 4-0 and 4-1.
UCLA Scouting Report
The Bruins enter the Sunday matchup ranked 21st in the country with an 14-6 record, with a slew of ranked members in both singles and doubles with the No. 33, 51st, 94th singles players and the No. 29 and 53rd pairings in doubles. First up on the weekend for UCLA in a matchup in Eugene with the Ducks before they head up to Montlake. UCLA enter's the weekend in a mixed form, having gone 2-3 in their last five matches as entering the weekend having last won last Sunday April 12th in a 4-0 shutout of Northwestern.

The Big Ten Tournament is set to take place in Ojai, CA this season from April 22nd-25th. Depending on results from this last weekend of play, the Huskies could be set to travel down to compete, however the final bracket will not be set until after all regular season matches conclude as currently Washington sits at 13th of 14 members.
