Huskies Move Into 11th After Round Two Of Silverado Showdown

NAPA, Calif. – The Washington women's golf team made its way through the second round of the Chevron Silverado Showdown, moving up to 11th place after an 11-stroke improvement from the previous day. The Huskies' total sits at +24 with a score of 599 heading into round three.
Carmen Lim continued to lead the Huskies, maintaining an even-par total through 36 holes to sit tied for 15th overall.
Athena Ni turned in the team's low rounds of the day, carding a one-under to climb into a tie for 37th with a total of five-over par. Amber Li followed with a three-over round and stands tied for 41st at plus six heading into the final day.
Mads Smith recorded a four-over round and sits tied for 77th at +13, while Wendy Tang posted a 10-over round to place 88th at +18.
"It was a better day," said head coach Anna Temple. "We put our ball in better places and we're able to score a bit better. We're excited to build off of today and look forward to tomorrow's final round. Athena and Carmen going one under in the even was awesome and to have Carmen in the top 20 at this point."
Washington will close out the tournament with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow, concluding the regular season with the final round at Silverado Country Club and Resort.
