Huskies Sharpen Up For Opener With Win Over MSU

SEATTLE – Exactly one week out from the regular season opener, the Husky volleyball team continued to sharpen its skills with a four-set sweep over Montana State at Alaska Airlines Arena. Another great crowd came in to watch UW dominate the Bobcats, not letting MSU score more than 15 points in any of the four sets.
Several more Huskies saw the court compared to the first exhibition match against Oregon State last weekend. Simona Mateska, Addie Kanouff, Hayden Conner, and Lily Mae Buerkle all got into the action.
UW hit over .500 in the first and the third sets for commanding victories, and the Huskies had a 12-1 edge in aces through three sets.
The Huskies will begin the regular season next Friday night, Aug. 28, at home against UC Irvine at 7 p.m. Washington will then host San Diego State on Saturday, Aug. 29 at 7 p.m. and close the opening weekend on Sunday at 3 p.m. against IU Indianapolis.
