Koelle Claims Medalist Honors At Sahalee Players Championship, Dawgs Finish Third

SAMMAMISH, Wash. – A walk-off hole-in-one on the 54th hole, secured Finn Koelle's first collegiate tournament title at the Sahalee Players Championship on Sunday afternoon at Sahalee Country Club.

As a team, Washington climbed up the leaderboard to finish in solo third at 890 (+26). The Dawgs shot even par during the final round after entering the day in eighth place. No. 3 Oklahoma State won the tournament by 28 strokes at 860 (-4).

Koelle is the first Husky individual medalist since Taehoon Song at the Husky Invitational at Gold Mountain Golf Club in 2024.

Koelle entered his final hole – the par 3 ninth – two shots back of the lead before his ace moved him into a tie at the top. He won the tournament by two strokes in the end. Koelle matched the low round of the tournament with a 66 (-6) to finish at 7-under overall (209).

Emil Herstad made moves up the leaderboard with an even par final round for a Top 20 finish at 8-over (224).

Grady Millar and Jake Foley made moves as well on the way to help the team, finishing at 11-over (227) and 14-over (230), respectively. Hamish Farquarhson closed out his first collegiate tournament with an 8-over day.

Playing as individuals, Brock Maulding, Walker Lamb and Quinn Burwell proved that the Huskies lineup has some depth. Maulding posted a final round 74 to place in a tie for 34th (+12), while Lamb finished in a tie for 30th (+11). Burwell finished the tournament in 72nd-place (+31).

Washington men's golf will be back in action on Sept. 28-29 at The Windon at Onwentsia Country Club.
