Chris Littleman joined Derek Olson's first staff as a volunteer assistant for the 2021-22 season. Littleman brings twenty-three years of coaching experience to the role as well as the knowledge from a lengthy professional playing career. He has served as the Head Coach for the Highline College women's indoor team since 2009.
In his first season on Olson's staff, the Beach DawgsΒ won seven more matches than the previous season, from five up toΒ 12. In year two, the Huskies jumped up to a program-record 21 wins andΒ the Huskies ranked in the Top-20 the entire season, with a program-best No. 12 ranking. Washington then broke through to its first NCAA Championship in 2024, earning the No. 13 overall seed and reaching the 20-wins mark for a second-straight season.
In 2025, the Huskies had to replace eight of their 10 starters from the 2024 NCAA tournament, but still stayed ranked in the Top-20 all season, and earned a trio of ranked victories including beating No. 15 Hawaii en route to the Queen's Cup title in Honolulu.
Littleman grew up in Renton, Wash. and both parents, Vikki and John, are University of Washington alumni. He played indoor collegiate volleyball at Golden West College in Huntington Beach, Calif. earning first team all-conference twice.
As a pro beach player, he competed in over 100 tournaments in the U.S. as well as Canada, Brazil, Turkey, and Spain.
His coaching career began with the Surf City Volleyball Club in 2004 where he continued to coach until 2007. He also served as an assistant coach for Mater Dei High School boys volleyball from 2005-09, helping the squad to a pair of league titles, a CIF State third-place finish in 2008 and runner-up finish in 2009.
LittlemanΒ returned to the Pacific Northwest to coach Highline in 2009, and has been named Western Region Coach of the Year in 2011, 2015, and 2016, as Highline won the Western Region title each of those years.
He also is the owner, director and head coach of the South End Indoor Volleyball Club and South End Beach Volleyball Club.
