CORVALLIS, Ore. - Freshman Jaime Clark hit a three-run homer in the first inning to lead No. 1 Washington to an 8-2 win over 12th-ranked Oregon State on Friday to improve to 39-4 overall and 3-1 in the Pac-10. OSU falls to 26-10-1 and 0-4. The Huskies will meet No. 22 Oregon tomorrow in Eugene at 2 p.m.

Senior Rosie Leutzinger extended her hitting streak to 21 games with a single to lead off the game and junior Kim DePaul singled before Clark hit her 14th dinger of the year. But only two batters for either team reached base in the next three innings, both for the Beavers, before the Huskies finished the game with runs in each of the last three innings.

Senior Erin Helgeland singled to begin the fifth frame and stole second before moving to third during an at-bat by senior Jeanine Giordano, who reached first on an error. Junior Kelly Hauxhurst hit Helgeland home and moved pinch runner Jessica Bork to third after she stole second. Hauxhurst then stole second, coaxing the throw from the catcher to second base and allowing Bork to steal home to put UW up 5-0.

The Huskies scored again in the sixth when senior Jamie Graves (18-3), who earned the complete-game win and allowed just three hits, doubled, moved to third on sophomore Shannon Walsh's at-bat and scored on Giordano's single. Two more runs came in the seventh inning. Leutzinger singled again and DePaul was hit by a pitch. Clark moved both up before redshirt freshman Jenny Topping doubled Leutzinger and DePaul home. Oregon State scored two unearned runs in the bottom of the seventh off three errors to end the game.
