Missouri Routs Diamond Dawgs, 16-2

SEATTLE - The Missouri baseball team handed 28th-ranked Washington its third straight loss Friday night, pounding the Huskies, 16-2, in the first game of a three-game series at Husky Ballpark.
Missouri (11-2) got a solid outing from senior starter Danny Hill (1-1). Hill picked up the win, working seven and one-third innings and allowing only one run on seven hits. At one point, he retired 13 straight UW batters. The Tigers also got five runs batted in, including three on a home run from senior left fielder Ryan Rallo
The Huskies' third straight loss, coming on the heels of a six-game win streak, dropped their season record to 6-4.
The Tigers took advantage of UW freshman starter Richie Lentz's wildness in the top of the first, scoring two runs on two walks, three wild pitches and a single. After the Huskies got a run back in the bottom of the first on an RBI single from freshman Matt Lane, Missouri stretched their lead to 5-1 when Rallo belted a three-run homer deep to left.
Lentz (1-2) left the game after surrendering a leadoff double to start the fourth. He took the loss, allowing five runs (all earned) on five hits over three innings.
Mizzou ended up posting three more runs in the fourth. After Cosme Caballero led off with that double off of Lentz, he moved to third on a bunt and Husky reliever Jame Hawkins walked Tyler Williams. After a second out, Rallo singled to drive home two more runs and then he scored all the way from first when Hawkins' pickoff throw to first sailed down the right-field line.
The Tigers added seven more runs in the seventh, the first two on Lee Laskowski's third homer of the season, another two on an RBI singles from center fielder Tyler Williams and shortstop Zane Taylor. A pair of wild pitches accounted for two runs and a single from Cody Ehlers drove in the seventh run of the frame.
Laskowski finished the day 3-for-5 with three RBI while Caballero added two doubles.
Husky freshman first baseman James Allan, who'd singled off the bench in his first career at bat in the seventh, led off the ninth with a solo home run, the first of his career.
The Huskies and Tigers play again Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Sunday's series finale has been moved to an 11:00 a.m. start.
