Five Huskies Named Academic All-District
June 02, 2026 | Baseball
SEATTLE - Five Huskies were named CSC Academic All-District selections, the College Sports Communicators announced on Tuesday. Colton Bower, Tommy Brandenburg, Sam DeCarlo, Jackson Hotchkiss, and Casen Taggart were each honored with the award.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District baseball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes baseball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
In addition to earning at least a 3.50 GPA and being of at least sophomore standing at their current institution, student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games. For pitchers, a student-athlete must have made at least 17 appearances or pitched 35 innings.
Jackson Hotchkiss and Colton Bower were two of the Huskies best offensive outputs this year. The pair were named to the All-Big Ten teams while sitting first and second on the team in nearly every offensive category. Hotchkiss slugged 20 home runs, becoming just the third player in program history to reach the 20 mark, while Colton Bower recorded a three-home run game against Indiana, only the second three-home run game in program history.
Sam DeCarlo and Casen Taggart were consistent contributors for the Dawgs as well. DeCarlo started all but one game on the season while Casen Taggart manned first base in 43 games over the course of the season.
Tommy Brandenburg was one of the team's most reliable arms in relief. The senior pitcher led the team in appearances with 25, including two starts, and claimed the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.
