SEATTLE - Washington sophomore-to-be Kyle Parker has been named a second-team Summer All-American by Baseball America, the magazine announced today. Parker, from Yakima's West Valley High School, led the Aloha (Ore.) Knights to the National Baseball Congress World Series earlier this month, throwing a five-hit, complete-game shutout in the championship game. During the summer, the right-hander posted a 7-1 record and a 2.07 earned run average. In 70 innings, he allowed only 46 hits and 24 walks while striking out 75. Last summer as a freshman at the UW, Parker posted a 4-3 record and a 3.84 earned run average and capped his season with a complete-game win over host Mississippi in an NCAA Regional elimination game.
