SEATTLE - Senior Michael Camporeale from the baseball team has been named the GoHuskies.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of April 8-14.
The designated hitter/right fielder from Littleton, Colo., in four games last week, hit .389 (7-for-18) with five of those seven hits going for extra bases.
He had two doubles, three home runs (his first three of the season) and drove in nine runs over the four games. His 18 total bases in 18 at bats meant that he slugged 1.000. He hit two homers and drove in four last Monday at Cal State Northridge and in Saturday's win at Stanford, went 2-for-6 with two doubles and four runs batted in.
Other nominees include: Kaitlin Inglesby (softball), Men's Varsity 8 (men's crew), Women's Varsity 8 (women's crew), Cheng-Tsung Pan (men's golf), Kyle McMorrow (men's tennis), SooBin Kim (women's golf) and Grace Ysidora (women's tennis).
