At Washington:
2005 (Junior) - Played in 11 matches, starting nine ...took 10 shots including three against both Cal Poly (Sept. 2) and Portland (Nov. 4)...tallied second-highest shot total of any Husky defender.
2004 (Sophomore) - Played in 19 matches, starting in 16...named to All-Pac-10 honorable mention team...key member of defensive line that held opponents scoreless 10 times...tallied 3 assists...notched an assist on a goal by C.J. Klaas in season opening win at Gonzaga (Sept. 1)...assisted Jeff Hoover's gamewinner at No. 17 Stanford (Oct. 29)...also had an assist versus Oregon State (Nov. 14)...registered 18 shots, with a season-high three versus Portland in NCAA first round match (Nov. 19).
2003 (Freshman) - One of only two freshmen to start all 20 matches...only goal came in 1-0 victory over Stanford (Oct. 12) in Palo Alto...aided a much improved Husky defense that allowed only 18 goals in 20 games...helped Huskies shutout both No. 11 South Carolina (Sept. 28) and No. 16 Oregon State (Nov. 16).
Club/High School:
Led Jesuit HS (Portland, Ore.) to three Oregon 4A state championships and four Metro League championship crowns...team was ranked among nation's Top-15 all four years...first-team All-Metro selection as a junior and senior...named first-team All-State as a senior, following a second-team pick as a junior...team captain as a senior...squad went a perfect 19-0 during sophomore year...played for FC Portland "Blues" for seven seasons..."Blues" won four consecutive state championships (1999-2002)...also won 2000 Presidents Day Tournament in Arizona, as well as four Portland Cup titles (1999-2002)...played for both Oregon and Washington ODP teams for a total of six years...captain of Oregon ODP team for three seasons (2001-03)...made international tours with Region IV ODP team...national team alternate (1998-99).
Personal:
William Lewis Flanagan...parents are Leslie and William Jr....has a sister, Tiffany (24)...also played kicker for high school football team for two seasons (2001-02), receiving All-Metro and All-State honors both years...two-year letterwinner in track...at age 10, was national runner-up in martial arts (Tae Kwon Do) at Junior Olympics...member of Jesuit HS honor roll...member of Pound for Pound and 900 lb. clubs (combined squat, clean and bench press) in Jesuit Power Training...also enjoys waterskiing, snowboarding and scuba diving.
