LOS ANGELES – No. 6 Washington fell to No. 25 UCLA 1-0 on Wednesday in the final match of the regular season. It was the Huskies' 10th game this season against a ranked opponent.

Despite the loss, Washington secures the No. 2 seed in the Big Ten Tournament and a first-round bye in the conference tourney. The Huskies will host a neutral quarterfinal and face the winner of UCLA and Rutgers on Wednesday.

The Huskies battled with the Bruins right from the start, going back and forth with chances from the beginning. The Bruins had the edge in the first 45 minutes, tallying six shots against two for Washington.

Coming out of the break, the Dawgs brought intensity on offense. In the opening minute of the second half, Jake Goetting fired a powerful strike that ricocheted off the post, keeping the match scoreless.

Washington launched 11 more shots on the UCLA goal against just four from the Bruins. In total, the Huskies tallied 13 shots to UCLA's 10.

Despite the effort from the Huskies, UCLA scored the only goal in the match in the 54^th minute.

Cameron Cruz earned a penalty and a chance for the Huskies to equalize later in the second half, but Zach Ramsey's penalty attempt went wide, keeping Washington behind by one goal.
