SEATTLE - Jake Goetting is the Big Ten Conference's Freshman of the Week for the second week in a row, the conference office announced on Tuesday. It's Goetting's second award of the season and Washington's seventh of the season.
A week after providing the game-winning goal against Michigan, Goetting again brought the fireworks in Big Ten action. The freshman launched a screamer to the far top corner for Washington's second goal against No. 11 Maryland, again scoring the game winner in dramatic fashion.
The freshman striker was a force off the bench again, playing a total of 50 minutes. He took his chances well, scoring his goal on one of his two shots in the contest.
Goetting's now got three goals on the season and two game winners, just one behind team leader Zach Ramsey (3).
Goetting and the Huskies will look to continue the hot streak on Wednesday evening as the team faces off against No. 25 UCLA. With a win, the Huskies can clinch at least a share of the Big Ten regular season title.
