Austin Voth Chasing World Series Ring

When the World Series gets started on Tuesday evening, Husky fans will have a rooting interest in MLB's fall classic. Former UW ace right-hander Austin VothΒ is a second-year member of the Washington Nationals and is in pursuit of becoming the first Husky to win a championship ring since 2014.
Voth, a native of Kent, Wash. (Kentwood HS), was 2-1 with a 3.30 earned run average in nine appearances for the Nationals this season. He was a fifth round pick by Washington in 2013.
If the Nationals can win the World Series, Voth will be the first Husky to be part of a championship team since Tim Lincecum won his third ring with the San Francisco Giants in 2014.Β
