SEATTLE – Washington won the battle of the Huskies Friday night, taking down Northern Illinois 8-0 in six innings. Washington's patient lineup drew six walks and forced five wild pitches. Noelle Hee and Taryn Atlee had two hits each in the game, with Atlee also scoring two runs. Nawai Kaupe and Amirah Milloy drew multiple walks each.

Taran Alvelo kept Northern Illinois from ever threatening in the game, allowing only two baserunners all game while striking out 11. She walked none and as she worked her way to her ninth win of the season.

		SCORING
Second Inning: Six straight Huskies reached base to start the second, including four consecutive singles to start the frame. It would end up a five-run inning by the Huskies, aided by five wild pitches. Third Inning: After singles from Hee and Atlee and a walk by Livy Schiele, another wild pitch made it 6-0. Sixth Inning: Morganne Flores' double started the inning's scoring, with Hee's sacrifice fly ending the game by run rule.

		NOTES
Alvelo (6.0 IP, 2 H, 0 BB, 11 K) has double-digit strikeouts in four consecutive starts. Alvelo has not allowed an earned run in 22.2 innings. After drawing three walks as a freshman, Kaupe (0x1, R, 2 BB) has three games with multiple walks already this year. Flores (1x4, 2B, RBI) hit her 100^th career extra-base hit.

Washington is back at it again tomorrow, with a 3:45 pm game against Northern Illinois and a 6:00 pm matchup with Idaho State.
