SEATTLE β The second week of the season for UW Beach gives the Huskies an early look at how their conference will stack up, as Washington (2-1) visits L.A. for the Pac-12 South Invitational this Saturday and Sunday. Three of Washington's four opponents are ranked in the AVCA Top-20 providing the Dawgs a great opportunity.

UCLA hosts the invitational at two locations: Mapes Beach on the UCLA campus and Ocean Park in Santa Monica. Washington will play one match each day at each location.

On Saturday, Mar. 7, UW starts with 11th-ranked Cal at 8 a.m. at Ocean Park and then travels to Mapes Beach to play 19th-ranked Stanford at 12:30 p.m.

Sunday, the Huskies take on Utah at Ocean Park at 9 a.m. and then play the second-ranked Bruins at 2 p.m. at Mapes Beach in a match that will be live streamed online.

Last weekend the Huskies opened their season in Tucson, Ariz. with a 2-1 mark at a tourney hosted by then-No. 13 Arizona. Washington defeated Stephen F. Austin and Colorado Mesa in 5-0 sweeps and lost a 4-1 decision to the Wildcats. Kara Bajema and Shayne McPherson were 3-0 for the Huskies at the No. 1 spot.

Washington has a 4-7 record all-time against California and a 3-3 mark against Stanford. The Huskies are 2-0 all-time against Utah and 0-6 against UCLA.
