Reynolds Homers, Lynch Shines In 3-1 Win

SAN JOSE, Ca. – A three-run homer from Sami Reynolds was all the scoring #2 Washington needed as they beat the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos 3-1. Washington rode that home run and an excellent performance in the circle by Kelley Lynch to the victory.
It was the second game in a row that Reynolds homered after recording her first career multi-homer game last night. Reynolds and Baylee Klingler had two hits each, with Klingler's double Washington's only other extra-base hit.
Lynch had one of the most impressive performances of her career in her first collegiate complete game. The freshman set a new career high in strikeouts by the middle of the fourth inning, going on to record her first career double-digit strikeout game.
UCSB could not manage a hit off of Lynch until the fourth inning. She retired the side in order four times, striking out the side in the fifth.
Washington will play Saint Mary's tomorrow at 9:00 am.
