
Emanuels, MacLean Selected In 2020 MLB Draft

Washington junior right-handed pitcher Stevie Emanuels and incoming freshman left-handed pitcher Dylan MacLean were among the 160 players that heard their named called during the two-day, five-round Major League Baseball draft that concluded Thursday. Emanuels was selected in the fifth round, while MacLean was picked in the fourth round.

Emanuels (Bellevue, Wash./Interlake HS) completed his shortened junior year as the Pac-12's leader in strikeouts (38) and strikeouts per nine innings (15.1). He had a 3-1 record and 0.79 earned run average over 22 2/3 innings. Emanuels had eight strikeouts or more in each of his four 2020 appearances, including a career-high 13 in a win over Fresno State.

Emanuels, the 157th overall selection, was named to Collegiate Baseball News' Third Team All-American squad and also made the Pac-12 Conference Academic Spring Honor roll. He has a slot value of $330.30K.

For his career, Emanuels went 13-6 with a 2.81 ERA in 66 games. He spent the first two seasons at Washington coming out of the bullpen, including making a UW freshman record 34 appearances for the Huskies' 2018 College World Series team.

He struck out 128 and walked 16 in 78 innings for the Crusaders. MacLean also shined in the Area Code games and established himself as the No. 2 overall high school draft prospect out of the state of Oregon. He has a slot value of $502.30K as the 115th overall pick.
