
Huskies Break 100 In Win Over N.C. Central

SEATTLE – Washington women's basketball (2-0, 0-0 Pac-12) was lights-out shooting in a massive 113-39 win over North Carolina Central (0-1, 0-0 MEAC) Thursday night in Alaska Airlines Arena.
It was a night to remember as this year's Husky squad wrote their name in the record books.
113 points was the second-most points scored in program history, the record being 114 set on December 20, 1985 vs. Weber State. It was the first time Washington scored 100 or more points since the Huskies scored 108 on March 20, 2017 vs. Oklahoma.
+74 is the new record for largest margin of victory, breaking the previous record set on February 13, 1979 vs. Puget Sound by one.
The Huskies scored 34 points in the second quarter, breaking the record for most points scored in a quarter. The previous record was 33 scored on November 13, 2019 vs. Weber State.
During the second quarter, the Huskies went on a 30-2 run over 8:12, and held N.C. Central to no field goals made over 6:35. Washington shot 61.9% (83.3% from three) in the second and went into halftime with a 57-21 lead.
Lauren Schwartz (finished with 15 points), Elle Ladine (finished with 17 points and five assists), and Sayvia Sellers were all in double digits before halftime, and Dalayah Daniels recorded her 13th career (ninth as a Husky) double-double in the third quarter. Daniels finished with 13 points, led both teams with 11 rebounds, and had two blocks.
For the second game in a row, every Husky scored.
The Huskies went on a 14-0 run over 4:32 in the third quarter, and held an 84-32 lead going into the fourth.
Ari Long became the fifth Husky in double digits, while Teagan Brown scored a new career high points with nine and also contributed six rebounds.
A 24-2 run over 7:35 in the fourth quarter extended the lead. In the end, Washington averaged 56.8% shooting on the game (44.4% from three), while holding N.C. Central to 21.9%. The Huskies out-rebounded the Eagles 62-28.
Sellers and Long led both teams with 18 points each. Sellers also led both teams with seven assists and four steals.
Next up, the Huskies continue their season-opening homestand when they host Pacific on Wednesday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. PT and crosstown rival Seattle U on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 1 p.m. PT in Alaska Airlines Arena.
