Huskies Defeat Cal, Clinch Series

Lindsay Lopez got the start, going two innings with two earned runs and a strikeout. Sidne Peters (7-0) picked up her seventh win after tossing 4.1 innings with four strikeouts and an earned run.
Cal brought across the first run of the game on a bases loaded sac bunt in the first.
Back-to-back walks to Kinsey Fiedler and Olivia Johnson brought up Jillian Celis who sent the ball over the left field wall to give the Huskies the 3-1 advantage.

Bases loaded and two outs, Alana Johnson hit a single down the left field line to drive in a pair of runs.
The Golden Bears answered back with a pair of runs in the bottom half of the inning.
Rylee Holtorf hit a one out single and advanced to third on a Cal throwing error. She was brought in on an Avery Hobson groundout. Brooke Nelson followed with her ninth home run of the season, a solo shot to make it 7-3 for the Huskies.

Nelson added her second home run of the contest to lead off the seventh. A walk to A. Johnson in the next at bat brought up Kinsey Fiedler who sent the second long ball of the inning out to left.

The Golden Bears brought across the final run of the game with an Elon Butler solo shot in the seventh.
With the four home runs this afternoon, Washington has hit at least one home run in 10 consecutive games. The team has notched 24 homers over that span.
The three-game series concludes tomorrow with a 12 p.m. first pitch. The game will air on Pac-12 Network.
