October 18, 2026 | Volleyball
SEATTLE – The 20th-ranked Huskies fell in straight sets to visiting 18th-ranked Indiana today in front of a season-high 4,143 fans at Alaska Airlines Arena. Washington (14-3, 5-3 Big Ten) was led by Addie Kanouff who hit .529 with a season-high nine kills.
The Hoosiers (11-6, 4-4 Big Ten) had lost three-straight and played like a team desperate for a win, and earned it with a 25-22, 25-18, 25-21 line. Indiana hit .303, becoming the first team to hit over .300 against the Huskies this season, and UW hit just .149. All three UW losses have seen the Huskies hit below .170.
"Indiana is a good team and they run a fast offense. We were with them and then they took off and we couldn't keep up," said Head Coach Leslie Gabriel. "We've got to get back in the gym and continue to get better so in those moments we can execute at a higher level. There were some good plays and then there were some plays that just weren't good. We came out with a good focus and I liked how we looked, but we just didn't execute."
Washington finished with 32 kills compared to 40 for Indiana. The Hoosiers also led in aces (7-5), digs (38-31), and blocks (10.0 to 8.0).
Kanouff had nine kills and no errors on 17 swings to lead the Dawgs from the right pin. Simona Mateska also had nine kills hitting .103, with two blocks and two aces. Katy Wessels had six kills and hit .364. Andrea Fabikovicova had 22 assists and seven digs and Kaitlyn Nguyen had nine digs
Up Next: UW heads back out on the road for one of the toughest trips of the year, going to No. 6 Wisconsin next Friday, Oct. 23, then No. 21 Minnesota on Sunday, Oct. 25.
