
Goode Posts Career-Low Round, Huskies In 10th Place After Round One

WAIMEA, Hawai'i – Washington men's golf sits in 10th after the first round of the Amer Ari Invitational following a 15-under (273).
All six Dawgs competing posted rounds under par for the first time this season, combining for 34 birdies and two eagles.
Senior Jacob Goode fired a 7-under par round (65) to sit in a tie for ninth. Goode had a team-low 31 on the back nine and followed it up with a bogey-free 34 on the front to match is career-low gross round – it is lowest career round under par.
Grady Millar and Jack Murphy are tied for 42nd after a 3-under (69). Millar went 1-over on the back nine, before bouncing back with four birdies on the front. Murphy opened the round with four birdies through his 14 holes before a bogey and a double set the round back. Murphy ended with two birdies to move back up the leaderboard.
Emil Herstad, starting on hole No. 10, totaled five birdies on his first nine holes. He hit a rough stretch over the final four holes to finish with a 2-under (70).
Finn Koelle got off to a tough start in his first two holes at 3-over. He got it under control going 4-under over his final 16 to sit in a tie for 75th.
Playing as an individual, Brock Maulding went 1-under (71) highlighted by an eagle on No. 15, his second to last hole.
