No. 24 Washington Women’s Basketball Defeats Wisconsin In Madison, 91-86
February 08, 2026 | Women's Basketball
MADISON, Wis. — The No. 24 Washington women's basketball team showed exceptional grit to earn a hard-fought road victory against Wisconsin, 91-86. The Huskies finished Sunday afternoon with their second-most points of the season.
Avery Howell had a standout game for the Huskies, recording her sixth double-double with a career-high 34 points and 14 rebounds. She is the only player in program history to record a stat line with at least that many points and rebounds.
Howell delivered when it mattered most for the Huskies, notching 13 of her points in the second half and another nine in overtime.
The sophomore also finished her afternoon with six made 3-pointers, a mark that matches her career-best, along with two assists, a block, and a steal.
Sayvia Sellers continued her offensive efficiency, delivering 23 points with five assists and four steals, setting a new season-high. It's the eighth game of her career with at least 20 points and five assists.
Elle Ladine was the third Husky to finish the afternoon in double figures, notching 16 points, seven rebounds, and three assists. In the third quarter, Ladine notched a defensive rebound and immediately pushed the ball up the floor for a play that ended with a Howell and-one to extend the lead. The board marked the 500th of Ladine's career.
Washington was exceptional from behind the arc, knocking down its second-most 3-pointers of the season with 13. Additionally, the Huskies took advantage from the line — knocking down 16 of 18 from the charity stripe. One of those shots came on a made 3-pointer from Howell where she was fouled, earning the elusive four-point play.
Wisconsin couldn't get much going on the glass against Washington, nabbing just 30 boards to the Huskies' 40. The Badgers failed to generate many offensive rebounds, only pulling down seven — one of its season lows.
Up next, Washington stays on the road to face No. 10 Iowa. It'll face the Hawkeyes on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 4:30 p.m. PT.
