Washington Returns Home for Slate of B1G Matchups, Opens with Purdue Friday Night
March 12, 2026 | Men's Tennis
SEATTLE - The University of Washington Men's Tennis Team (6-8) returns to play this weekend in Seattle against Purdue (4-7) in their Big Ten home opener. It's been one month since the Huskies last played at home, as they closed the Valentine's Day Doubleheader against Portland State with a 4-0 win. The Huskies are coming off the back of a Big Ten road trip through Illinois, where they faced multiple ranked opponents in Illinois and Northwestern. While both matches ultimately ended in losses, the Dawgs competed well, with multiple three-set matches the norm in last weekend's performances. The Huskies will look to improve on these performances this weekend with an unranked Purdue team making the trip to Seattle on Friday night and No. 60 Indiana making their way to Montlake Sunday morning.

Husky History against the Boilermakers
The Boilermakers make their first trip to Montlake as members of the Big Ten. This will be the fourth meeting in series history between the Huskies and Boilermakers, with Washington holding a 3-0 edge in the series. In last season's matchup from West Lafayette, the Huskies defeated the Wildcats 4-2.
Purdue Scouting Report
Purdue enters the Friday matchup unranked with a 4-7 record, with zero-ranked singles or doubles players. The Boilermakers are coming off a weekend in which they played a pair of top-30 sides in No. 22 USC and No. 26 UCLA, dropping both 1-6. Purdue's last win came against an unranked Illinois State, 4-0, back on February 26th.
UP NEXT
Washington will play again this Sunday, at Noon, welcoming No. 60 Indiana to the Nordstrom Tennis Center for their first meeting as Big Ten conference members.
