Huskies Fall In Series Opener To No. 13 USC

LOS ANGELES – Washington dropped the first of three games against No. 13 USC, falling to the Trojans 5-0 on Friday night.
Washington moves to 9-12 on the season and 4-3 in Big Ten play.
The Huskies held USC to just six hits on the day and only three earned runs, but couldn't find the run support to back the defensive effort.
Noah Kenney made the start for Washington, throwing 5.1 innings while allowing six hits, three earned runs, and striking out three batters.
Tommy Brandenburg closed out the day for the Huskies with 2.2 innings of no-hit ball.
Washington struggled to get the offense going against one of the best pitchers in the nation in Mason Edwards. Daniel Porras and Colton Bower each tallied singles in the game.
The Huskies will look to bounce back on Saturday night in game two of the series. Jackson Thomas will get the ball as the two teams face off again at 7 p.m. in Los Angeles.
