IOWA CITY, Iowa – No. 21 Washington women's tennis bounced back from their first loss of the season with a 4-0 sweep over No. 41 Iowa on Sunday morning at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex.

Washington improves to 13-1 on the season with a 4-1 mark in Big Ten action.

Alexia Jacobs and Marie Weissheim continued their doubles winning streak with a 6-1 victory on the No. 2 court. The duo is 9-0 during the dual season. Reece Carter and Jermine Sherif secured the doubles point with a 6-3 win on Court No. 3.

Karolina Kozakova was set to make her Purple and Gold debut at the No. 6 singles spot, but her match was decided by an Iowa injury default.

With just two courts needing to finish for the Dawgs, No. 103 Weissheim continued her momentum from doubles to win in straight sets, 6-0, 6-4. It is her 12th singles win of the spring (12-0) to move her into a tie with Carter for the team lead.

Sherif secured the match win with her 6-2, 6-2 win on the No. 4 court. Sherif is the third Husky with a double-digit win total with a record of 11-1.

The Huskies will be back on the courts on Friday at home against Northwestern. The match is set to begin at 4 p.m. PT.
