SEATTLE – No. 15 Washington women's tennis opened conference action with a 4-0 win over No. 64 Rutgers on Friday night at the Nordstrom Tennis Center.
UW moves to 10-0 on the season and 1-0 in Big Ten play.
The Huskies secured their 10th double point of the season. Reece Carter and Jermine Sherif got the win in the No. 3 spot with a 6-0 victory. Erika Matsuda and Carina Syrtveit secured the point with a ranked dub over the No. 62-ranked doubles pair, 6-3.
Sherif put the second point on the board with a 6-3, 6-0 win on the No. 4 Court.
No. 64 Carter followed closely behind with her 6-3, 6-1 victory at the No. 2 spot. Carter improves to 9-0 in singles dual action.
No. 113 Marie Weissheim clinched the match at the No. 5 Court with her 6-3, 6-1 win. She moves to 9-0 on the season.
