Colton Bower Tabbed Big Ten Player Of The Week
March 09, 2026 | Baseball
SEATTLE - After a dominant week at the plate, Colton Bower has been named the Big Ten Conference's Player of the Week. He becomes Washington's first weekly honoree this season and the first since AJ Guerrero last year (April 28, 2025).
Bower's huge offensive output led the Huskies to a 3-1 record over the last week including a series win at Indiana. On Sunday, the catcher became just the second Husky ever to record three home runs in a single game.
In total, Bower compiled a 2.220 OPS, a 1.636 slugging percentage, and a .545 (6-for-11) batting average with three home runs, a triple, and seven runs batted in.
In addition to his outlandish offensive numbers, Bower also made 22 putouts behind the plate, including a perfect fielding percentage.
After his monstrous week, Bower now paces the team in slugging percentage (.651), home runs (4), and extra base hits (8).
Bower and the Huskies will look to build on the momentum from the opening week of Big Ten play as they host Seattle U on Tuesday evening before welcoming Ohio State to Montlake over the weekend.
