Huskies Drop Match to #2 Buckeyes
April 12, 2026 | Men's Tennis
COLUMBUS, Ohio - The University of Washington Men's Tennis Team was defeated in a conference match 4-0 to #2 Ohio State this morning. With this result, Washington is now (8-15) on the season and (2–9) from Big Ten play. The Huskies will return to play for the final time this spring with a pair of matches from the Bill Quillian Tennis Stadium against USC and UCLA.
In a doubles set that saw all three Husky pairings face ranked competition, the Buckeyes were able to command an early lead in all individual matches winning the doubles point 2-0 from the three matches.
In Singles, much of the same would occur, as Ohio State entered the first match of the day, with a second match scheduled for 4pm ET against MAC affiliated Toledo, with their one through four positions occupied with ranked singles players. This would be the first time this season that Rohan Belday would face a ranked singles opponent. The Huskies would drop the three matches needed to give Ohio State the match win, as Soham Purohit, Stephane Kamendje, and Hyeonseok Seo would close the weekend with unfinished singles matches.
