
Washington Beach Volleyball Heads South For Longhorn Showdown

SEATTLE – No. 19 Washington heads to Austin, Texas, for the Longhorn Showdown this weekend, April 3-4.
All Texas matches will be broadcast on the Longhorn Network, fans can watch Washington vs.Texas here. There will be no live stats.
Huskies open tournament plays on Friday against Houston Christian at 1:00 p.m. PT, followed by a matchup with No. 3 Texas at 4:00 p.m. PT.
On Saturday, Washington will open the day by facing Tulane at 6:00 a.m. PT. Their second matchup will follow, though the opponent and time have not yet been determined. The tournament will then move into its placements matches, with the third and fourth place teams facing off at 10:00 a.m. PT, followed by the championship match between the first and second place teams at 12:00 p.m. PT.
Washington enters the weekend coming off a perfect 4-0 performance at the SMC Spring Fling in Moraga, and a weekend off for Spring Break. The tournament was highlighted by two dominant 5-0 sweeps over Pacific and two tight 3-2 victories over Saint Mary's.
The Huskies opened the weekend with a 3-2 win over Saint Mary's, with Ella Tyus/Zoe Pabarcus winning in straight sets, followed by clutch third-set victories from Sarah Wilcock/Mariana Tomasova and Alina Urzua/Avery Towne, who clinched the match. Washington then swept Pacific 5-0 in back-to-back matchups, including a standout 21-6, 21-8 win from Tyus/Ellis Hay and consistent straight-set performances from multiple pairs. The weekend closed with a rematch against Saint Mary's, another 3-2 win, with key contributions from Katarina Pantovic/Emma Hohenauer and Mayamay Brown/Ellis Hay securing the deciding points.
Houston Christian opens the weekend with a 4-16 record; Texas, one of the top teams in the field at 16-6 and Tulane, a 14-8 squad looking to make an impact in Saturday's early matchup.
