Husky Trio Earns Individual Berths To Regionals
May 06, 2026 | Men's Golf
SEATTLE – Washington men's golf had three individuals selected to the NCAA Corvallis Regional at Trysting Tree Golf Club in Jacob Goode, Emil Herstad and Finn Koelle.
The regional will be contested May 18-20 with the top five teams from advancing to the NCAA Championships along with the top individual finisher not on an advancing team. The NCAA Championships will take place between May 23 and June 3 in Carlsbad, Calif at Omni La Costa Resort and Spa.
"Nice to see the guys get rewarded for a solid season individually," head coach Alan Murray said. "This is a great opportunity for them to try and earn their way to La Costa for the national championship which is one of the best tournament experiences in world golf."
The last time Washington had only individuals selected for regionals was in 2018 when Carl Yuan and Henry Lee represented the Dawgs. UW is one of two school to have three individuals selected (along with San Jose State) and one of six with multiple selections.
"It helps the tournament is being played in the PNW and it will be somewhat familiar conditions and grass," Murray added. "It will be great competitive experience for the guys also and another chance to test their skills against the best college players in the country. We look forward to getting down there and see if one of the guys can advance."
Earlier today, Goode, Herstad and Koelle were honored as second team All-Big Ten members. The trio led the Dawgs this season in scoring average at 72.4, 71.4 and 72.2, respectively.
