UW’s Buck, Duncan Called Up For U20 World Cup

SEATTLE – Washington women's soccer forwards Alex Buck and Grace Duncan have been selected to their home nations' respective rosters for the U20 World Cup, set for Sept. 5-27 in Poland.
Buck will suit up in the Stars and Stripes for the United States Youth Women's National Team after receiving several camp invites throughout the summer. Meanwhile, Duncan will play for the Football Ferns of New Zealand after making the U17 World Cup squad in 2025 in Morocco.
Buck and the USWNT will open World Cup play Italy on Sept. 6 and Japan on Sept. 9, while New Zealand will face Japan on Sept. 7 and Italy on Sept. 10. The two sides will then faceoff to close out group play on Sept. 13.
A 2025 Fourth Team All-American, Buck enters her third season on Montlake after leading UW in scoring with nine goals in 2025. Rising to the occasion when it mattered most, all nine of Buck's goals were scored after the start of Big Ten play.
Duncan, a native of Tuaranga, New Zealand, is in her first collegiate season at Washington. Duncan starred for Tauranga Moana FC, earning the team's Golden Boot and MVP awards in 2025. The strikers also helped lead Otumoetai Collage to runner up at New Zealand Nationals, earning the school's MVP honors all four seasons.
