SEATTLE – Just one week after a great season opener that saw the Huskies go from unranked up to No. 13 nationally, the men's cross country squad will be back in action this Friday morning in Chicago. However, it will be almost a completely different crew standing on the start line at tomorrow's Loyola Lakefront Invitational, than the one that raced in Terre Haute last week.

It will just be the UW men in action this week, with the gun going off for the men's 8k at 7:40 a.m. Pacific time tomorrow. The race is held at the Sydney R. Marovitz Golf Course in Chicago, hosted by Loyola University Chicago.

Last week, the men's third-place finish at the John McNichols Invitational included upsets over 12 ranked teams, which helped the men go from outside the top-30 all the way to 13th.

Expected to race on Friday is Zane Bergen, Cohen Butler, Cruize Corvin, James Crabtree, Thom Diamond, Amin Fidaar, Parker Mong, Jonathan Podbielski, Owen Powell, and Will Schneider. It would be the Husky debuts for transfers Bergen and Podbielski, and the collegiate debuts for first-years Butler and Fidaar.
