Huskies To Face Revamped Cal Squad In Berkeley
Washington (10-5, 2-3) travels to face Cal (13-5, 4-2) at Haas Pavilion on Thursday night at 7 p.m.

Kevin Morrison is entering his third season at Washington and the first as the Associate Head Coach.
Already a noted recruiter, Morrison will have an expanded role in 2013-14. He will assume more duties with on-court coaching and skill development, while continuing to work on advance scouting and recruiting.
In 2012-13, Morrison played a crucial role in helping the Huskies reach a second-straight WNIT, while winning 20 games in back-to-back years for the first time in almost two decades. Morrison was also instrumental in the development of the post players, including Talia Walton who was named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team and Aminah Williams who finished second all-time at UW for single-season rebounding.
In addition to his role with the current team, Morrison was instrumental in bringing a top-10 recruiting class to Washington, including McDonald's All-American Kelsey Plum.
In his first season at UW, Morrison was a part of the staff that led Washington to 20-14 record and a trip to the quarterfinals of the WNIT. Responsible for the development of the post players, Morrison helped center Regina Rogers earn First Team All Pac-12 honors while leading the team in scoring (16.8 points) and rebounding (8.6).
Before coming to Seattle, Morrison had plenty of experience in California. For four years, the La Verne, Calif., native served as an assistant coach at California under coach Joanne Boyle, where he assisted with recruiting and contributed in the Golden Bears ability to continually bring in highly ranked classes.
While at California, Morrison was a part of a successful Golden Bears program that reached the postseason in each of his four seasons at Berkeley, including the Sweet Sixteen, along with a WNIT Championship. During the 2007-08, and then later in 2008-09, the Golden Bears set a school record for wins with 27.
Some of the players Morrison brought to California include McDonalds All-American's: DeNesha Stallworth, Eliza Pierre, Gennifer Brandon, Lindsay Sherbert, and Afure Jemerigbe. Layshia Clarendon, another Cal signee, was a WBCA All-American. Overall, Cal signed three recruiting classes that were ranked in the Top-10 by ESPN Hoopgurlz, Blue Star, and All-Star Girls Report.
Prior to joining the college ranks, Morrison was the president and head coach of the West Coast Elite AAU program, where he helped 74 players sign with Division I teams, including 17 McDonald's All-Americans and six Gatorade State Players of the Year and one Gatorade National Player of the Year.
Morrison is a 1994 graduate of Cal Poly Pomona with a degree in social work. He spent over nine years as a social worker and high school guidance counselor. Kevin and his wife Heather have one son, Jayce.
