Potter brings a wealth of golf experience back to Washington, where he lettered for the golf team from 2000 through 2004. He was a member of three squads that made it to the NCAA Championship, including the 2004 team that finished sixth - which at the time was the Huskies second-best place ever.
In four years at Washington, Potter competed in 39 tournaments, played 120 rounds and had a career scoring average of 74.21. He recorded three top-10 finishes, including a career best 8th at the Taylor Made Waikoloa Intercollegiate in 2004. Potter's career best round was a 64 at The Nelson, which he shot as a junior.
After earning a political science degree at Washington, Potter played professionally on several of the smaller tours and competed at the 2006 PGA Q-School Tournament. He spent part of 2006 as a volunteer assistant coach at UNLV for the women's golf team.
The Coeur d'Alene, Idaho native was a four-time all-Greater Spokane League team member during high school at Gonzaga Prep. He finished runner up to eventual Husky teammate Corey Prugh at the 1999 4A State Championship.
Potter's parents are Pam and Doug. He has two brothers, Andy (played baseball at Washington State) and Ricky.

2003-2004 (Senior): Earned his fourth letter ... played in three NCAA Championships and a total of 39 collegiate tournaments ... ranked second on the Husky squad with a 73.27 stroke average ... that stands as his best single-season average during his four-year Washington career ... stroke average would ranked as the 12th best in Husky single-season history ... ranked sixth in the nation by Golfstat for Par 3 Scoring (3.03) ... had two top-10 finishes, leading UW at the Taylor Made Waikoloa Intercollegiate with an eighth-place showing ... that was the best tournament finish in his career... placed 12th at Pac-10 Championships with 5-over 293 ... shot par or better in 12 of 30 rounds ... top score was 5-under 67 at Waikoloa (Feb. 12) ... played a total of 120 rounds during his career ... medalist at 2003 WSGA Men's Amateur ... was sixth at 2003 Sahalee Players Championship ... won 2002 U.S. Open Qualifier at Sun Valley with a 66 ... finished fifth at Sectional Qualifier ... finally won 2002 Idaho State Match Play Championship in an event that was delayed 10 months due to a weather delay during the original tournament dates.
2002-2003 (Junior): Third on the team with a 74.55 stroke average ... competed in all 13 team tournaments ... tied then-UW 18-hole record with a 64 in the opening round of The Nelson ... that stands as the best opening round score by a Husky in a tournament ... equaled his career-best 54-hole score by shooting 214 at The Maxwell and the Waikoloa Intercollegiate ... led the Huskies at The Maxwell with his 13th-place finish ... was UW's No. 2 scorer at NCAA West Regional at 3-over 219 to place 22nd ... shot 6-over during final three rounds of NCAA Championship after opening with disappointing 90 ... played 40 rounds, the eighth best single-season mark in UW history.
2001-2002 (Sophomore): Played in nine of UW's 14 tournaments ... tied for second for UW at the NCAA Championships to help Huskies to an 11th-place finish ... shot 7-over 291, including back-to-back rounds of 72 over final 36 holes ... carded career best tournament score with 2-under 214 at PING/ASU Invitational to finish 31st overall and first for the Huskies ... shot final-round scores of 69 at the ASU Invitational and Pac-10 Championship to equal then-career best 18-hole score ... was UW's No. 2 scorer at The Schenkel, the Pac-10 Championships and the NCAA West Regional and NCAA Championships ... shot 4-over 293 (72 holes) at Pac-10 to place 19th overall, his second best tourney finish ... advanced to finals of the Idaho State Amateur tournament last summer
2000-2001 (Freshman): Tied for 44th with a three-day total of 233 at the Husky Invitational, the first tournament of his career...showed improvement throughout the weekend, posting 79-78-76...did not compete in the Red River Classic...one of three freshmen to compete at the Nelson Invitational at Stanford...finished in 76th with a 231...top Husky finisher at the Prestige...finished 15th overall with a three-day total of three-over 219...fired a second-round 69, the second-best round of any Husky in the fall...did not compete in the Ping Intercollegiate or the Waikoloa Intercollegiate.
Gonzaga Prep School/Junior Golf: Graduated with a 3.75 grade point average...four-time all-Greater Spokane League...placed at 4A state championships all four years...placed in the top-10 his freshman and junior seasons, finishing second to current UW teammate Corey Prugh in 1999...qualified for and competed in the 2000 US Amateur...member of the National Honor Society.
