2001 (Junior) -- Saw action as a reliever in seven games and started three others … earned two wins and a save against only one loss … picked up a save with four solid innings vs. Southern Utah on March 9, allowing a run on three hits and no walks while fanning three … got the start and a win vs. Washington State on March 21, allowing two earned runs while striking out four over five innings of work … started but got no decision at Hawaii-Hilo ... picked up a win with one relief inning at Gonzaga on May 1 … threw two shutout innings of relief at Arizona May 18 … had a very strong summer, going 5-1 with a 3.08 ERA for the Orange County (Calif.) Scorpions … struck out 41 and walked only seven in 47.2 innings … helped the Scorpions to the NBC World Series in Wichita, where they finished 12th in the 48-team field … 2000 (Sophomore) -- Appeared in nine games and made one start in his second season at the UW … finished the year with the best earned run average on the team … walked only five and struck out 21 in 28.2 innings .. did not get a decision or save … had a good outing his first time out, allowing only two runs over five innings vs. Gonzaga (Feb. 26) … got his lone career start at Southern Utah on March 23 … allowed only one run over the first four innings of that start before running into trouble … fanned seven, walked none and gave up only five hits in 6.1 relief innings vs. Cal on March 31 … allowed three hits over five relief innings against Oregon State on April 30 ... picked up a victory in the Huskies' first game in Cuba, allowing two hits and no walks while fanning three in three innings of work ... 1999 (Freshman) -- Made seven bullpen appearances in his first season at the UW ... struck out 12 batters in only nine and two-thirds innings ... had strongest outing against 12th-ranked Wichita State, working four innings and allowing one run and fanning five ... struck two in a no-hit inning against Cal State Northridge ... had a no-hit, two-K inning against Gonzaga ... made only one Pac-10 appearance, working two-thirds of an inning against USC.
