SEATTLE - The Washington Huskies (5-2) start the home portion of their 2020 schedule with three games against UC Irvine (4-4), Friday through Sunday. In all, the Huskies will be home for the next two weeks and are scheduled to play eight games. They host Portland on Tuesday, May 3 and then Utah Valley for four games, Feb. 28 to March 1.
UW is returning home on a hot streak having won each of its last five games. They sandwiched three games in which they allowed one run around a pair of impressive ninth inning comebacks.
UW Coach Lindsay Meggs enters the week two games shy of 300 wins as the Huskies' head coach. He will become the third Husky coach to reach that plateau.

β’ vs. UC Irvine: UC Irvine leads the all-time series 13-12, gaining a slight advantage after winning 2 of 3 in Irvine last season. The Huskies started 2019 on the road against the Anteaters and took game one of the series before dropping the final two. The Huskies lead the all-time series in Seattle, 7-4, with the squads last facing each other splitting two games at Husky Ballpark in 2009. The teams first met in 1980. Lindsay Meggs is 3-3 all-time as UW's head coach against UC Irvine. Meggs' daughter, Kelly, was a four-year letter winner for the Anteaters' basketball team from 2011-14, averaging 5.5 points in 110 games.Β
