SANTA CLARA, Ca. – The #2 Washington Huskies scored early and often in a 9-1 win over the Saint Francis Red Flash. Eight different Dawgs had hits in the game, led by Sis Bates matching her career high with a perfect 4-for-4 day.

The top of the order feasted today: Bates, Morganne Flores, and Baylee Klingler all drove in multiple runs. Washington's top four hitters went a combined 9-for-15 with four runs scored and seven RBI. That included doubles from Bates and Klingler.

Taryn Atlee also scored three runs in the game. The Huskies would score in five of six innings, scoring multiple times in three of those and taking the lead for good just three hitters into the day.

Brooke Nelson threw over four innings of shutout ball, allowing only four hits in her second win. Nelson struck out six, a new career high, and pushed her shutout streak to 10.2 innings before Saint Francis managed to score. The freshman retired the side in order twice, including the first five batters on the game. Pat Moore finished the game with an unblemished 1.1 innings of work.

		SCORING
First Inning: Washington's first three batters all reached safely, with an HBP and two infield singles. That would help the Huskies along to two runs in the game, via RBI from Flores and Kelley Lynch. Second Inning: For the second time in as many innings, Flores drove in a run, adding to the lead with a groundout with the bases loaded. Fourth Inning: Washington scored three more runs, all with two outs, on big hits from Flores and Klingler. Klingler's two-run double gave her 29 RBI on the year, matching her freshman season total. Fifth Inning: With the bases loaded, Bates doubled down the rightfield line for her fourth hit of the day. That scored two runs to make it 8-0, only for Saint Francis to score a run in the bottom half on a wild pitch to extend the game. Sixth Inning: Nelson pushed the game into the run rule with an RBI single through the right side to make it 9-1.

		NOTES
In her last four games, Nelson (4.2 IP, 4 H, 2 BB, 6 K) has a 1.09 ERA, striking out 11 in 19.1 innings. Bates (4x4, 2 R, 2B, 2 RBI) recorded her third four-hit game in the last two years. Baylee Klingler (2x4, 2B, 2 RBI) extended her hitting streak and RBI streak to six games. Sami Reynolds (1x3, R) stretched her on-base streak to 30 games. In 15 games batting ninth, Atlee (1x3, 3 R, BB) is hitting .485 with a .585 on-base percentage. Kaija Gibson (2x2) has hits in five of her last six at-bats.

Washington heads to San Jose for the rest of the weekend, playing UC Santa Barbara and San Jose State tomorrow, then Saint Mary's on Sunday.
