
Holtorf Walks It Off; Huskies Shutout Seattle U

SEATTLE – Rylee Holtorf hit her second walk-off home run of the season to secure the 3-0 win for No. 9 Washington over crosstown rival Seattle U on Monday night at Husky Softball Stadium.
The Huskies improve to 27-7 overall.
Lindsay Lopez got the start in the circle, going 6.1 scoreless innings with only three hits allowed and no walks with five strikeouts. Brooke Nelson (5-1) came on in relief to pick up her fifth win with a walk and a strikeout. Nelson also recorded her first career triple at the plate in the third.
After six scoreless innings Jillian Celis led off with her second single of the game and Sydney Stewart walked to put a pair of runners on with one out. On a 1-2 count, Holtorf sent her seventh home run over the left field wall to secure victory.
Up next, the Huskies travel to Boise for a midweek matchup at Boise State on Wednesday. First pitch is set for 5 p.m. PT and airing on Mountain West Network.
