
Huskies Fall To Pacific Lutheran On Tuesday

SEATTLE – The Huskies dropped the first of two midweek games against Pacific Lutheran on Tuesday, falling 1-3 at Husky Ballpark.
Washington moves to 8-13 on the season while PLU improves to 6-6.
The Lutes jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning and stayed in front until the end of the game. The Huskies outhit the visitors 8-5, but were unable to find the offensive output to take the lead.
Matthew Henning was the top hitter for the Huskies on Tuesday, going three-for-three from the plate with a double while adding a walk. Sam DeCarlo was the next-best batter for the Dawgs, going two-for-four.
Colin Blanchard drove in the lone run for the Huskies in the third inning, using a single to bring home Julian Sanders from third base.
Justin Tims pitched 2.0 innings in his third career start, allowing two hits and two runs, one earned, while striking out two batters. Bradley Gilbert also pitched two innings, allowing one run.
Jase Evangelista, Sawyer Parkin, and Peysen Sweeney combined to toss five scoreless innings to close the game out, allowing just two hits in the final five frames.
The Huskies return to action on Wednesday against Pacific Lutheran in the fifth game of their homestand. First pitch is slated for 5:02 p.m.
