
Huskies Battle In Series Finale At No. 8 UCLA

LOS ANGELES – Washington softball fell in the series finale, 6-5, in a back-and-forth battle at No. 8 UCLA on Sunday afternoon at Easton Stadium.
UW moves to 29-12, 7-5 Big Ten on the season.
Three Husky pitchers saw time in the circle with Rylee Rehbein starting her fourth game of the season. Stevie Hansen (7-2) and Sophia Ramuno combined to throw the final 5.2 innings.
UCLA scored the first run of the contest on a wild pitch. Hansen and the Husky defense were able to get out of a one out bases loaded situation.
The Huskies responded with Alycia Flores leading off the second with her team-leading ninth double of the season. After a sacrifice bunt by Charity Sevaaetasi, Riley Peschek was able to drive in Flores on a single out to left center to tie the game at one.
UCLA brought across three runs in the third with a solo home run by Megan Grant and a two-run homer from Alexis Ramirez to take a 4-1 lead.
Giselle Alvarez and Flores led off the fourth with back-to-back hits and Sevaaetasi and Sophi Mazzola followed with back-to-back hit by pitches to cut the Bruin lead to two. Peschek followed with a four-pitch walk to make it a one-run game. Ava Carroll tied the game on her fourth sacrifice fly of the season.
The Bruins retook the leads on a solo home run by Savannah Pola in the bottom of the fourth. UCLA added a run in the sixth on a Husky error to extend the lead to two.
Down to the final out, Alexis DeBoer hit her 15th home run of the season to make it a one-run game. The Huskies were not able to plate the tying run.
