COLLEGE PARK, Maryland – The Washington softball team (36-18, 16-8 Big Ten) finished its Big Ten Tournament run on Thursday, falling 2-9 to Indiana in the quarterfinals at Maryland Softball Complex.

After winning its first ever Big Ten Tournament game a day ago, Washington struggled to find its offensive footing on Thursday, scoring its first run in the top of the fifth.

Indiana took a 3-0 lead in the third before Alexis DeBoer delivered on a two-RBI single to cut the IU lead to a run.

Indiana scored three more in the fifth and sealed the deal with a three-run home run in the sixth to earn a spot in the B1G semifinal game on Friday.

The Huskies will turn their focus to the NCAA Selection Show, which will be aired at 4 p.m. PT on Sunday, May 10, to find out their postseason fate.
