UW Softball Signs Transfer Scarlette Chapman

SEATTLE – Washington softball head coach Heather Tarr will welcome transfer Scarlette Chapman, who is set to join the Huskies for the 2027 season.
Chapman will come to Montlake along with Lucy Ford, Shea Gonzalez, Brooklyn Paratore and Carly Jones as newcomers to the Husky squad.
"Scarlette Chapman is somebody we've had our eye on for a while," Tarr said. "We had an opportunity available to increase the depth in our infield and we found exactly what we needed. A left-handed power hitter with collegiate experience and a big heart for the Huskies. We will look forward to seeing her in purple and gold this fall, helping our team continue our pursuit of our second national championship."
A 5'7 infielder originally from Everett, Wash., Chapman competed at Edmonds College in 2026 where she led the team with a .557 batting average, .606 on-base percentage and a 1.253 slugging percentage.
Chapman led the Tritons across a plethora of other statistical categories across her sophomore campaign, recording team-highs with 88 hits, 17 doubles, 29 home runs and 106 RBI. She helped lead Edmonds to a 40-4 record in 2026.
"I chose Washington because it felt like home, not only because of its proximity, but because of the atmosphere and community," Chapman said. "As a female student-athlete I have the opportunity to be a part of something bigger than myself through this platform and I could not be more excited."
The Everett, Wash. native spent her first collegiate season at UC San Diego, where she played in 10 games with six starts. She was named to the Big West Commissioner's Honor Roll with honors her freshman year.
