SEATTLE – After bagging her first career goal in the first 45 minutes, Andrea Leyva completed her brace in the second half to lift No. 21 Washington past Oregon on Senior Night at Husky Soccer Stadium Friday.

The Las Vegas natives second of the match helped the Dawgs stave off a comeback attempt from the Ducks, who played the final 25 minutes of the affair down to 10 players.

Both before and after the second half red card, UW dominated possession on the night, out shooting the Ducks 23-6, including 10-3 in shots on target.

Tanner Ijams made a pair of saves, one on a penalty shot, and was only beaten through the aid of a massive deflection en route to her 12^th win of the season.

After a handful of warning shots from the Huskies early in the match, Leyva put the Dawgs on top in the 18^th minute. Picking up a clearance at the top of the box, UW's No. 10 darted first in then out past closing defenders, guiding her right-footed shot perfectly off the far post and in to make it 1-0 for the home side.

Oregon was awarded the chance to equalize from the penalty spot in the 35^th minute after VAR review. Ijams took one step to her right moments before Ellie Felt fired left, diving low to deny the spot kick.

However, two minutes later Ijams was wrong footed when Felt's shot from inside the 18 caromed off of Lucy Newlin, leveling the match at a goal apiece heading into the halftime break.

Duck forward Savannah Holley was shown a straight red card in the 65^th minute on VAR review after striking Husky striker Alex Buck with a high boot, giving Washington the numbers advantage for the remainder of the match.

Piling pressure forward on repeat, Leyva's breakthrough came in the 77^th minute.

The play started on the right flank for UW as Maylen Montoya's cross picked out Ava Morton at the far post. Morton's header glanced off the woodwork and right into Leyva's path, allowing the third year midfielder to pass the ball into the back of the net with her left for the eventual match winner.
