
No. 17 Washington Wins 12th Consecutive Match

EUGENE, Ore. – No. 17 Washington women's tennis won their 12th consecutive match with a 4-1 victory over No. 67 Oregon on Saturday afternoon at the Student Tennis Center.
The Dawgs improve to 12-0 on the season and 3-0 in conference action.
Washington began the match with its 12th doubles point of the season. Erika Matsuda and Carina Syrtveit were the first to finish on Court 1 with a 6-2 win. Alexia Jacobs and Marie Weissheim clinched the point with their 6-3 win in the No. 2 spot.
No. 113 Weissheim was the first Dawg to finish in singles with a straight set victory on Court 5, 6-2, 6-1. No. 64 Carter followed closely behind, earning her 11th win of the season on Court 2 with a 6-1, 6-2 decision.
Oregon put a point on the board with a three-set win on Court 3.
Jermine Sherif clinched the match with her three-set victory on Court 4, 6-2, 1-6, 6-1. It is Sherif's first match clincher of the season as she improves to 9-1 overall in dual singles.
Washington returns to the courts on March 20 and 22 for matches at Nebraska and Iowa.
