
Huskies Fall To Nebraska, 4-3

LINCOLN, Neb. – No. 21 Washington dropped its first match of the season to Nebraska, 4-3, on Friday night at the Sid and Hazel Dillon Tennis Center.
The Huskies move to 12-1 on the season with a 3-1 mark in Big Ten action.
Alexia Jacobs and Marie Weissheim won their doubles match 6-1, but Nebraska fought back to win the next two courts to take a 1-0 lead going into singles.
No. 64 Reece Carter secured her 12th singles win of the season, matching her total from last season. She was the first Dawg to complete her match, winning in straight sets 6-1, 6-2 to put the first point on the board for UW.
No. 103 Weissheim followed closely behind to add the second point with her straight set victory on Court 5, 6-4, 6-2.
On Court 4, Jermine Sherif battled after dropping her first set, 2-6, to winning the next two 6-1, 6-1 to put the Dawgs within a point of taking the match.
Nebraska won the final two matches on Courts 1, 6 and 3 to take the match, 4-3.
Washington will look to bounce back on Sunday at No. 41 Iowa. The match is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. PT.
