Jackson Hotchkiss Tags Two Home Runs In Series Finale

Washington moves to 9-14 and 4-5 in Big Ten play.
Jackson Hotchkiss got things started early, launching his first home run of the day in the very first at bat of the game. On a 3-1 count, the sophomore smoked the ball 115 miles per hour off the bat to left field, sending the ball 419 feet.
USC responded in the bottom of the first, scoring five runs to take the lead.
The Huskies found another run when Hotchkiss led off the third inning. This time, he took a 2-1 count pitch to left again, bringing his season home run total to six.
Washington's left fielder is averaging one home run every two games.
The Huskies added a run in the fourth on a Mic Paul RBI triple, scoring Alex Pearson from first. In the fifth, Daniel Porras drove in Braeden Terry with an RBI groundout.
Gunnar Nichols had the most productive day out of the bullpen, tossing 3.1 innings with one hit allowed and three runs. Carson Boesel and Jack Wade both pitched in relief of Hayden Lewis who made the start on Sunday.
The Huskies will look to bounce back on Tuesday at Pepperdine. First pitch is scheduled for 1:35 p.m. in Malibu with the game broadcast on ESPN+.
