BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Huskies suffered their first defeat in Big Ten play on Friday night, falling 1-0 to No. 2 Indiana on the road.

Washington moves to 4-3-1 overall and 1-1 in conference contests.

The Huskies were the aggressors in the match, outpacing the Hoosiers in both shots and shots on goal. Washington had a total of 19 attempts, including eight on target against nine shots and just two on frame for the hosts.

Indiana took the lead in the 16^th minute and held the advantage through the full 90.

The Huskies had multiple chances to equalize that barely missed the back of the net, including two in the final 15 minutes from Wyatt Lewis and Zach Ramsey.

Emmett Layman paced the Huskies with five shots and two on frame in his 45 minutes of action off the bench. Asher Hestad and Alex Hall each had three shots in the match as well.

Harrison Bertos, Egor Akulov, Asher Hestad, and Stockton Short all played the full 90 minutes.

Zach Ramsey featured as a substitute in the game, totaling 56 minutes of action with two shots. In addition to Layman, Kevin Hernandez, Jake Goetting, and Shaun Brun each appeared as substitutes in the match.

Washington has a chance to bounce back on Monday with another top-ranked contest. The Huskies will face No. 3 Ohio State at 4:00 p.m. PT.
